..............................................................................................................................................................

THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT THING TO STRESS AND THAT NEEDS TO BE SAID SO PLEASE READ THIS AND REMEMBER

(I know this will be so hard for some to read - but it is the truth and there is much more to say, but I and I think others are still {or maybe they will never be} ready for it)

..............................................................................................................................................................

The word 'suicide' is very much a taboo word

It is said people 'commit' suicide

IT IS NOT

It is died by suicide

The word 'commit' suggests it is something bad.

Like the person has done something terribly wrong, a crime.

The truth couldn't be further from this.

The person feels they they don't have any other option.

The pain they are suffering is too much for them to bear.

They can't see recovery

To them this is not possible

They cannot see any future

Truthfully ...

They are not selfish

They feel far, far from it

They feel they are holding loved ones back

They feel a burden upon people around them, supporting them.

They have thought of those left behind

But they feel they are doing everyone else a favour

They truly, truly feel people are off without them

They feel quite the very opposite of selfish.

My friend Nicole did not commit a crime, she died just like someone does from other illnesses.  She was suffering so terribly much, too much for her to live with and bear any longer.

I know this as this is what I felt .

I was desperate, feeling a burden, holding everyone back and seeing nothing beyond the pain I was feeling.  It felt the right thing for me and everyone else.

It is very hard to say if suicide it the same as dying from another illness, but honestly I cannot think of any other way to say to that person it feels the only option (thank you @SoviDreams for helping me put this into words)

Suicide is not a crime the word 'commit' implies.

It is a death like any other

Sending strength to those struggling, it may not seem this way but things will and can get better and I know this because I have been there  xxx
